FRIDAY - SUNDAY , MARCH 24th - 26th Blade Runner: Final Cut @ Music Box Theatre, 3733 N Southport Ave., Various Times WHAT: The 35th Anniversary of this great film! SO WHAT: The Music Box Theatre will be presenting Blade Runner in Ridley Scott’s definitive Final Cut, including extended scenes and never-before-seen special effects. FRIDAY AND SUNDAY, MARCH 24th AND MARCH 26th Charlie Parker's Yardbird @ Harris Theater, 205 E Randolph St., 7:30PM on Friday and 2:00PM on Sunday WHAT: A Special two-night presentation of this unique jazz opera

SO WHAT: In partnership with the Harris Theater, Lyric Unlimited presents Charlie Parker’s Yardbird, a 90-minute chamber opera that explores the extraordinary life of legendary jazz saxophonist and bebop artist Charlie Parker. The show is an electrifying fusion of opera and jazz, set in the renowned New York City jazz club Birdland and takes place in the days after Parker’s death. In the empty twilight between life and death, the tortured jazzman composes his final masterpiece, revisiting the inspirations, demons, and women who fueled his creative genius.

FRIDAY, MARCH 24th Wizard Skull: Five Flavors @ Galerie F Underground, 2415 N Milwaukee Ave, 6:00PM - 10:00PM WHAT: The first official exhibition in Galerie F's underground space! SO WHAT: This first exhibition in the new vintage-inspired space will feature artwork from Wizard Skull, an outrageous character-based artist hailing from Brooklyn. Influenced by the skateboard graphics, garbage pail kids and cartoons of the 80s, Wizard Skull's exhibition Five Flavors is a series of new paintings on wood and paper that will explore pop culture characters in five different iconic styles of the Artist: Paintings without a single straight line; Stretching figures into hilarious proportions; Magnificent mashups of recognizable characters; Original works using both hands to draw mirror images; an Intertwining the shapes that exist within Bart Simpson. NOW WHAT: Head to the new Galerie F underground space and experience the phenomenal weirdness of Wizard Skull! Bourbon County Stout Night @ Kaiser Tiger, 1415 W Randolph St., 7:00PM WHAT: A night of barreled aged goodness. SO WHAT: It's Kaiser Tiger's Annual Goose Island Bourbon County Stout Night. This event is dedicated to the powerful flavor of Goose Island rare barrel aged release and will feature the following delicious and tasty beers on draft: 2014, 2015, and 2016 BCS; 2016 BCS Coffee; 2016 BCS Barley Wine; and to balance out the stouts there will be some sours in the form of Goose Island Juliet and Goose Island Halia. There will also be 2010 and 2012 Matilda and BCS Rare in bottles. NOW WHAT: Make your way over to Kaiser Tiger and responsibly enjoy some rare beers. SATURDAY, MARCH 25th the kates @ The Book Cellar, 4736 N Lincoln Ave., 7:00PM WHAT: Comedy to help you get through the week SO WHAT: the kates, an all female comedy showcase, features a semi-monthly line-up of the city's funniest, most talented comedians as well as emerging female comic performers. The show, produced by Kelsie Huff, encourages its comedians to express their hilarious viewpoints unapologetically and have done so with great results! This edition of the kates will feature Chicago comedian Lainie Lenertz hosting the showcase at The Book Cellar. Chicago Sinfonietta Celebrates LGBTQ Composers and Performers @ Wentz Concert Hall of North Central College, 171 E Chicago Ave, Naperville, IL, 8:00PM WHAT: Beautiful music for your weekend SO WHAT: In keeping with its practice of promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in classical music, the Chicago Sinfonietta will be celebrating composers and performers from the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, and questioning community in two Chicago-area concerts Saturday and Monday. NOW WHAT: Saturday’s Naperville performance will be at Wentz Concert Hall of North Central College, March 25, 8:00 pm, $48-$60, $10 for students. SUNDAY, MARCH 26th Neighborhoods of the World @ Navy Pier, 600 E Grand Ave., Noon WHAT: An opportunity to experience different cultures SO WHAT: Navy Pier will be celebrating the diversity of Chicago’s communities with the seven week series Neighborhoods of the World. This annual cultural tribute is presented in collaboration with community arts organizations, consulates, and museums in attempt to bring the beauty of the world into everyone's lives. Each week will feature a different culture as its theme, letting attendees enjoying lively folk music, traditional dance, cuisine, and crafts from the various ethnic Chicago communities.
