This curated weekend is pretty packed with tons of comedy, music, festivals, and art for you to celebrate the warming weather. In addition to the curated picks below, there are some very worthy events going on this weekend. Maifest Chicago (think Oktoberfest but now) will be going on Thursday to Sunday, the Lincoln Park Greek Fest will be celebrating from Friday to Sunday, and The 57th Street Art Fair will be opening your eyes to new art on Saturday and Sunday! And let's not forget that Saturday, June 3rd is Wonder Woman Day! Tons of great comic book shops like Challengers Comics + Conversation, Zone Comics & Games, Amazing Fantasy, and many more will be celebrating this amazing comic book heroine with fun events including giveaways! So let's get your curated weekend started. THURSDAY - SATURDAY, JUNE 1st - 3rd Story Arc Sketch Comedy Festival @ Stage 773, 1225 W Belmont Ave. WHAT: A new sketch comedy festival! SO WHAT: Vienna Juvenile is proud to announce the launch of their innovative, groundbreaking new comedy event, the Story Arc Sketch Comedy Festival, a two-week long sketch comedy festival combining the worlds of sketch and theater to form a new wave of storytelling. will feature performances by Chicago comedy ensembles Vienna Juvenile, OPIE, Spooky Dookie, Handsome, and Marc Ranucci's Hot Reads. Uh, it's very important, Morty! *burp* SO WHAT: The Don't Even Trip Road Trip is your one stop shop for all things Rick and Morty The Rickmobile is an enormous Rick Sanchez sat upon a roving vehicle that will be rolling around the United States selling exclusive Rick and Morty merchandise. Stop by and witness the glory of the amazing TV show in person. Kyle Starks, writer of ONI's Rick and Morty comic, will also be in attendance! All items will be available through credit card purchases only 4th Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival Presents: Eugene Mirman & Jon Glaser @ Thalia Hall, 1807 S Allport St, 9:00PM WHAT: Two comedians you won't want to miss during the 4th Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival SO WHAT: Eugene Mirman and Jon Glaser will join forces for this night of oddball comedy. Mirman is the voice of Gene on Bob's Burger's and has released I'm Sorry (You're Welcome), a ridiculous comedy album (which includes 45 minutes of Mirman crying) in multiple formats as a 9 Volume Digital Set, 7LPs, a Chair, and a Robe. Jon glaser, who got his start at Second City in Chicago, is an instantly recognizable actor from the likes of Parks and Recreation and Trainwreck. NOW WHAT: Tickets are $31 for this night of comedy at Thalia Hall! 4th Annual 26th Annual Comedy Festival Presents: The Adventures of Pete & Pete Reunion @ Lincoln Hall, 2424 N Lincoln Ave., 9:30PM WHAT: A reunion of one of the most surreal and entertaining Nickelodeon shows of the 90s SO WHAT: Michael Maronna and Danny Tamberelli, better known this night as Pete and Pete, will reunite for one evening of all-is-pipe-ness along with special guests, Endless Mike, Mr. Tastee, and a variety of others from the surreal land of Wellsville. NOW WHAT: Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. FRIDAY - SUNDAY, JUNE 2nd - 4th Do Division Street Fest & Sidewalk Sale @ Division, from Ashland to Leavitt, Friday 5:00PM - 10:00PM Saturday and Sunday Noon - 10:00PM WHAT: Local vendors and restaurants between two amazing stages full of music. SO WHAT: The Do Division Street Fest and Sidewalk Sale takes place on 10 city blocks, on Division Street from Ashland to Leavitt , and features two live music stages, a family stage, and a wide variety of local vendors and food! Empty Bottle Presents and Subterranean have curated the stages, which will include performances from Girlpool, Ohmme, Diet Cig, Shannon & The Clams, Protomartyr, Mykele Deville and many more. NOW WHAT: The festival requests a $5 donation that will benefit the West Town Chamber of Commerce and two local schools, Friends of Pritzker and LaSalle II PTO. FRIDAY, JUNE 2nd TALsounds @ Reckless Records Wicker Park, 1379 N Milwaukee Ave, 6:00PM WHAT: A great instore performance opportunity SO WHAT: Natalie Chami aka TALsounds will perform her unique drone and ambient soundscapes in celebration of the release of her new album Love Sick on Ba Da Bing! Records NOW WHAT: This instore performance is completely free! Visitors From Another World: New Works by Three Chicago Artists @ Rotofugi Designer Toy Store & Gallery, 2780 N Lincoln Ave., 6:00PM WHAT: New Works from Ben Stevens, Tony Rabit and Will Rimel SO WHAT: Rotofugi, your local designer toy store & gallery, is kicking off their summer exhibit schedule with some great Chicago artists! They'll be featuring Ben Stevens, Tony Rabit and Will Rimel in their newest exhibit! Ben Stevens specializes in super detailed otherworldly character paintings that somehow manage to be both creepy and adorable! Seasoned Rotofugi veteran Rabit will show off a new series of digital works on paper based on imaginary whimsical structures. The relatively recent transplant to the Chicago area and Rotofugi Gallery Assistant Will Rimel is an amazing sculptor and toy customizer and will bring a a cool funky vibe to the exhibit. Come by and experience this opening reception for great art, snacks, and music by DJ Sean Doe. All three artists will be in attendance. NOW WHAT: This BYOB opening reception is free! The exhibit continues through July 2. Sales for this exhibit begin at 11am on opening day, and via email to their previews list starting at 2pm (central time) that afternoon. SATURDAY, JUNE 3rd JC Brooks Band @ Reckless Records Wicker Park, 1379 N Milwaukee Ave., 3:00PM WHAT: A show inside a cool record store SO WHAT: The talented JC Brooks, Chicago's purveyor of modern soul, will be performing a stripped down set with his band at Reckless Records, celebrating the recent release of his new album The Neon Jungle. Reckless instore performance are usually a delight and this one is looking like it will be amazing! NOW WHAT: These instore shows are always free, so go and enjoy JC Brooks and his band perform! Clickhole Live! @ Lincoln Hall, 2424 N Lincoln Ave., 10:30PM WHAT: ClickHole live and in person SO WHAT:  The Onion's publication Clickhole, which satirizes sites like Buzzfeed and the culture surrounding "clickbait," will be featuring its writers at Lincoln Hall for some comedy that will include present stories, tales, and PowerPoint presentations. That's right, PowerPoint presentations. NOW WHAT: Tickets are $10 for this comedy show SUNDAY, JUNE 4th Wicker Park Farmer’s Market @ Wicker Park, 1425 N Damen Ave., 8:00AM - 2:00PM WHAT: Farmer's Market Season Starts! SO WHAT: The Wicker Park Farmer’s Market gathers local vendors who will be offering all the best in handmade and homegrown to get the summer going right. Their fresh fruits and veggies, baked goods, meats, cheeses, and flowers will be astounding. The market is a great opportunity for kids and adults alike to learn about the food we eat from the farm to our table, straight from the farmer’s mouth. The first Wicker Park Farmer’s Market of the season will feature a chef demo from Urbanbelly, performance by the Wicker Park Choral Singers and reusable bag making with Anastasia Chatzka of Anastasia’s boutique.
