MONDAY, OCTOBER 16th
The Flat Five Fall Freak Out Residency @ The Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia Ave., 7:30PM, 21+
WHAT: The place you'll want to be every Monday
SO WHAT:The Flat Five are the super group that Chicago needs. Made up of
Scott Ligon, Casey McDonough, Kelly Hogan, Nora O'Connor and Alex Hall, the band's debut album It’s a World of Love and Hope is made up entirely of songs by Chicago mainstay Chris Ligon. Their sound is everything you could want from these music masters: sweet and twisted pop songs that will get stuck in your head. Now you can see them mix things up like the good ole days at this multi-month residency where they will be trying a whole mess of beautiful things every Monday night. This evening is Theme Theme Night, where they will be performing TV and movie themes with Total Pro Horns featuring Max Crawford!

Salonathon: Self Care @ Beauty Bar, 1444 W. Chicago Ave., 8:00PM, 21+
WHAT: A weekly show of experimental work featuring an inclusive creative community throwing a great party!
SO WHAT: The theme of this week's
Salonathon is a chance for you to give a little love to yourself, relax the best way you know how, and not worry about your troubles. So come out, enjoy life, and join the party! Feel the love with this line up of fantastic Chicago artists performing some underground, emerging, and genre-defying art and stick around for a fun community with jams provided by DJ All The Way Kay.

Moe's Taven Pop Up @ Replay Lincoln Park, 2833 N. Sheffield, 5:00PM
WHAT: Sometimes bars like to dress up for Halloween too!
SO WHAT: Replay Lincoln Park will be transforming into Moe's Tavern (and Arcade) pop-up bar from Tuesday Oct. 17 all the way through Halloween! They've recreated everything you love about Springfield's favorite bar including special Simpsons-themed drinks and at least a dozen different varieties of Duff beer.

Lit & Luz Festival @ Various Locations
WHAT: Lit & Luz Festival is a one-of-a-kind series of events featuring renowned authors and visual artists from Chicago and Mexico City in cultural exchange and conversation.
SO WHAT: This series of readings, conversations, artist talks, performances which culminates in a Live Magazine Finale, highlights new translations and artistic collaborations—showcasing some of the most innovative contemporary writers and artists from both countries.

WHAT: A monthly showcase of Rock/Punk/New Wave and queer night hosted and co-curated by siblings Donnie & Madison Moore of Absolutely Not
SO WHAT: The showcase is always a fun time with amazing bands that benefits a worthy cause! This time around local punk quartet Blizzard Babies, The Just Luckies and their indie folk tunes, and SuperKnova's electropop sound will be coming together for this great show benefiting the Tran Liberation Coalition.
