Federal Judge Rules Against Reversing Palatine Bathroom Policy

Federal judge Jorge Alonso has ruled against forcing Palatine High School District 211 to stop allowing transgender students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms of their choice. An Arizona-based attorney is representing more than 50 families, who in 2016 sued the Palatine High School district over its policy granting access to the bathroom corresponding to the gender with which transgender students identify. Arguing that the policy breaches the privacy and rights of other students, the families said they will appeal the Friday ruling.
