Chicago Experienced Sixth Warmest Winter on Record in 2017
Last year, Chicago hit highs in the 60s and 70s in the thick of its Winter, and an average of 41 degrees in February. Records that date back to 1895 prove Chicago's overall 2017 average of 54.3 degrees, to have made last year the sixth warmest for the city. And according to the Chicago Tribune, the warmest year on record was just five years ago (Chicago Tribune).
