‘Doomsday Clock’ Moves to 2 Minutes to Midnight

It’s now officially two minutes to midnight, according to the Doomsday Clock. The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, founded by a group of scientists at the University of Chicago, who created and used the clock as a method of tracking man-made threats to humanity, officially moved the time on Thursday, citing nuclear tensions between the US and North Korea, as well as tensions between the US and Russia, continuing military exercises along the borders of NATO, climate change, and the use of technology to distrupt democracies around the world. This is the closest the clock has been to midnight since 1953, the height of the cold war between the US and Russia. (Bulletin of Atomic Scientists)
