Four CPD Officers Stripped of Powers Amid FBI Investigation
At least four Chicago Police officers were stripped of their powers this week as part of a year-long investigation by the FBI into allegations they robbed drug dealers. Law enforcement conducted raids on at least two of the officer’s homes, but no arrests have been made and charges have yet to be filed. At least one of the officers is a Sergeant and a former member of a joint FBI task force who has had at least 23 complaints filed against him for alleged civil rights violations, illegal arrests, and improper use of a weapon. A spokesperson for the Department told Fox32 that he couldn’t comment on an ongoing case, adding “integrity and accountability are paramount to the Chicago Police Department and we work hard everyday to build and safeguard public trust.” (Chicago Tribune)
