Election Officials Say Early Voting Could Be Delayed Up To Two Weeks
Early voting ballots in the Chicago metro area could be delayed up to two weeks, affecting at least 3 million voters. “Although Feb. 8, 2018 was the new statutory starting date for Early Voting, there remain ongoing cases involving objections to candidates’ petitions,” read a statement from the Chicago Board of Elections Commissioners. “As a result, ballots are not ready, and the programming and testing of voting equipment cannot be completed by Feb. 8.” Early voting in the area was supposed to begin on Thursday. Officials in Chicago, as well as suburban Cook and DuPage Counties say early voting could be delayed up to February 21st. (Capitol Fax)
