It's post Valentine's Day and just like any other holiday you're either reveling in the fun you had or frustrated with the pomp and circumstance that surrounds it. No matter how you may be feeling you can mix things up with this weekend's fantastic events. You can wander around during the last days of 2018's Chicago Auto Show, indulge in some naughty films at Dan Savage's adult film fest at Music Box, or enjoy some modern classical music at Impromptu Fest. Whatever your style may be, there is something fun for you to do in Chicago! THURSDAY - SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15th - 17th Dunn Dunn Fest 2018 @ Fitzgerald's, 6615 W Roosevelt Rd., Thursday 7:00PM, Friday & Saturday 6:00PM, 21+ WHAT: The 6th Annual Dunn Dunn Fest! SO WHAT: Dunn Dunn Fest is the yearly tradition of bringing that summer festival vibe into the cold month of February, showcasing local and national acts that deserve to be heard. This year's fest will take place entirely at Fitzgerald's for three nights of amazing music! NOW WHAT: Tickets are $15 for night one , $20 for night two , and $20 for night three of Dunn Dunn Fest!  Three Day passes are also available for $40! THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15th Adler After Dark: Mars or Bust! @ Adler Planetarium, 1300 S Lake Shore Dr., 6:00PM-10:00PM, 21+ WHAT: Return to the Red Planet with Adler Planetarium's After Dark series! SO WHAT: This is your chance to learn all about Mars including cutting-edge tech currently being used to explore Mars, the future missions being planned for the Red Planet (including a special talk on the status of a future crewed mission), and a special presentation from Framestore on their groundbreaking work on the world’s first group VR experience: Field Trip to Mars.  You'll also get to test your knowledge at Adler's special Mars Team Trivia and as if all this great science wasn't enough, attendees will have the chance to win tickets to C2E2 and score a C2E2 cape! SO WHAT: A pair of fantastic voices will be gracing the Tonic Room Stage this Friday!  Becca Stevens and her gripping songs will mesmerize you while opener Diana & the Dishes' impressive blend of genres will surely get you warmed up this winter evening! NOW WHAT: Tickets are $15 for this amazing show! Grown Folks Stories @ The Silver Room, 1506 E 53rd St., 8:00PM - 10:00PM, 21+ WHAT: A place to share stories! SO WHAT: Ever just want to tell a story to a room full of people? Then you should stop by The Silver Room for this open mic session, Grown Folk Stories. No readings, no poetry, no spoken word, no themes, no judging. Just someone getting five minutes on the mic to tell their story. NOW WHAT: Suggested $5 donation. FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16th Lindsey Liss Exhibition @ Connect Gallery, 1520 E Harper Ct., 6:00PM - 9:00PM, All Ages WHAT: An art show born from urgency at Connect Gallery SO WHAT: Lindsey Liss is understandably fed up with the goings-on in the world around her and has turned her signature style into a call to action. Pulling influence from rock ‘n’ roll, pop culture, politics, and people, Liss uses salvaged neon bits, lenticular printing, and similar techniques to create thought-evoking wordplay with stunning imagery. NOW WHAT: Opening reception is free to attend Charlie Curtis-Beard / Aced Spade / Marko Stat$ / Life After Youth! @ Beat Kitchen, 2100 W Belmont Ave., 8:30PM, 17+ WHAT: Fresh hip-hop for your night SO WHAT: Check out Chicago's deep well of fantastic local hip-hop artists at this stacked lineup at Beat KitchenCharlie Curtis-Beard will be headlining this night alongside the likes of Aced Spade, Marko Stat$, and Life After Youth! Cassandra Jenkins / Bunny / Jodi @ The Hideout, 1474 N Milwaukee Ave., 9:00PM, 21+ WHAT: Perfect mood music for your Friday night SO WHAT: Cassandra Jenkins beautiful songs touch upon  cosmic bodies both in the sky and the world around us, creating an etheral soun thatwill stay with you. She will be coming to the Hideout for one amazing show with two local bands you must see: Bunny's irresistible melancholic tune and Jodi's affecting bed room pop. NOW WHAT: Tickets are only $10 for this fantastic lineup! SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17th Music Frozen Dancing feat. Oh Sees / ADULT. / B Boys @ Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave., 1:00PM, 21+ WHAT: A little block party in the middle of winter SO WHAT: It snowed for 9 consecutive days last week, so clearly the logical thing to do is throw a party outside the Empty Bottle. Present with their pals at Goose Island Beer Co, Music Frozen Dancing 2018 will be welcoming psych-rockers Oh Sees, Detroit’s dark synth duo Adult., B Boys from Brooklyn, DJ Taye of Chicago’s Teklife and local punks C.H.E.W. Bite Café will be in on the fun as they will be serving chili outside from the reigning champion of the Annual Chili-Synth Cook Off. Sales from the chili and a portion of the proceeds of the event will go to benefit Chicago Coalition for the Homeless. If standing outside in the cold all day gets to be too much, you'll be able to relax inside at the bar where Lumpen Radio DJs will be providing some tropical vibes. NOW WHAT: It's free! Bundled up and rock out! Elloo's Monster Love @ Movement Gallery, 515 N Halsted St., 3:00PM -10:00PM,All Ages WHAT: A great exhibition from Elloo at Movement Gallery! SO WHAT: Elloo creates scenes that are equally adorable and  unsettling, forming a fairytale monster universe of her own design. So don't hesitate to dive into "Monster Love", new collection of her work and merchandise! There will be donuts by Gurnee Donuts and cocktails by Lake Shore Dive for you to enjoy while viewing Elloo's new works! NOW WHAT: This opening reception is free ! Bask in the awesomeness of Elloo's amazing work! Candyland: A Delicious Celebration @ Rutcorp, Location provided to ticket holder day before show, 9:00PM, 21+ WHAT: A tasty celebration of the women and non-binary artists making waves in Chicago. SO WHAT: Fashion designers, musicians, sculptors, performance artists and more of Chicago’s most vibrant artists will be coming together at Rutcorp to bring their delicious Candyland to life! Musical acts will include DJ Sasha No Disco, Jordanna, Lulu Be., Tasha and DJ Dapper. Head to the Candyland website for the full lineup of artists! Also I highly recommend you read F. SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 18th Madman's Eye The Art of Mac Blackout Book Party @ Bucket O' Blood Books and Records, 3182 N Elston Ave., 3:00PM- 6:00PM WHAT: A art/book party demanding your attention SO WHAT: Mac Black out will be stopping by Bucket O'Blood to celebrate the release of "Madman's Eye: The Art of Mac Blackout," a 240 page monograph and definitive guide to Mac's work.  The book covers Mac's life and work from his start in the graffiti movement to his recent street art and studio work. Books will be available to buy and get signed by the artist himself! NOW WHAT: It's free! Drinks will be provided, but you're welcome to BYOB! Robot Riot: Year of the Dog @ Emporium Arcade Bar, 1366 N Milwaukee Ave., 6:00PM, 21+ WHAT: Robot Riot is back at Emporium for their Winter Olympic series! SO WHAT: The 2018 Emporium Winter Olympics is calling upon the greatest athletes Chicago has ever seen to prove their skills. This series of events lets you compete head to head on some of the best game-related playing fields. Don't let your years of gaming go to waste! This evening's battle will take place with Robot Riot doling out tabletop-sized robot destruction! They'll have some obstacles in your way to reach the prizes and glory, but it'll be well worth it!
