Dem Lawmakers Demand Madigan Investigation After Second Harassment Firing

Democratic lawmakers demanded Tuesday that an investigator outside the House Speaker's office do a deep dive into sexual harassment and abuse cases under Madigan's watch. Former campaign director Kevin Quinn was fired last week after a harassment complaint that involved extensive evidence that reportedly was ignored long beyond the statute of limitations. A second operative, Shaw Decremer, has now been fired after several women came forward complaining of his unwanted advances. Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) heads up the call for an independent investigation, given that Speaker Madigan is the head of the Illinois Democratic Party, and his daughter, Lisa Madigan, is the attorney general (Chicago Tribune).
