We’re getting close to music lovers favorite time of year again: festival season. But before we all deck out in our favorite festival threads, it's announcement season, when the lineups are reveal and the anticipation rises to crazy heights. Earlier today it was the Pitchfork Music Festival that kicked off their lineup announcements with a little over an hour long Facebook Live video which then continued on a separate live feed on their website.
So far Friday's lineup includes Tame Impala (who are still riding the wave of their full length album Currents, which saw their guitar driven psychedelic sound shift to a more synth and atmospheric vibe), the captivating and poignant voice of Julien Baker, Lucy Dacus and her addicting folky rock tunes, local noise rockers Melkbelly, and the jazz fusion of Joshua Abrams & Natural Information Society.
Saturday's lineup includes old school soul and R&B performer Raphael Saadiq, the sort-of-a-reunion-but-not-really of punk band This Is Not This Heat, and the extraordinary electronic pop artist Kelela.
And the final day of the fest will include the insanely fun flow of DRAM, the addicting experimental lo-fi pop of (Sandy) Alex G, the somewhat recently reformed noise rockers Japandroids, and the avant garde jazz of Irreversible Entanglements.
These amazing acts only scratch the surface of what's to come! Pitchfork Music Festival will take place July 20th-22th 2018. Tickets are currently available for $75 a day and $175 for a three-day pass .
