Brighton Park, Logan Square Parents Picket Alderman Burke for Trump Ties

Four neighborhood organizations--the Brighton Park Neighborhood Council, Grassroots Collaborative, Logan Square Neighborhood Association, and Mijente--are holding a press conference and picket line at Alderman Edward Burke's private law office this morning. They are calling on Burke to drop Donald Trump as a client because they say it's an unethical financial relationship. They also demand that he resign as chair of the City Council finance committee. The groups say Burke's private property tax law firm has saved Trump more than $14 million in property taxes. As chair of the city finance committee, Burke has the power to block reforms to the property tax assessment process. "This is a clear conflict of interest." (Press release)
