Gallery: We Are Cosplay’s Pre-C2E2 Cosplay Competition at Revolution Brewing
It was an all-around great evening at Revolution Brewing's Kedzie Tap Room when all us nerds invaded for the We Are Cosplay cosplay competition hosted there. There were lots of local vendors selling art, comics and even helicopter rides, as well as fantastic nonprofit organizations like Reading with Pictures, an educational organization that promotes literacy and visual art by using comics in classrooms.

ReedPOP's C2E2 director Mike Negin and his staff had capes, posters and plenty more swag to hand out as cosplayers and fans poured into the taproom to hang out, drink and dance. It was a great vibe, and the contest was full of impressive entrants, from an incredibly detailed beast to Ferngully's Batty Koda and two separate entourages full of Spidermen (some bringing Venom and Deadpool along for the show.) If it's anything like what we're going to be seeing when C2E2 rolls into town April 6-8, the cosplay looks like it'll be out of this world, and if you're going to be in costume, you'll find We Are Cosplay on the floor to help you with any last minute fixes or adjustments of your own. Prizes for the winners of last night's competition were provided by C2E2 and Revolution and included plenty of Revolution swag as well as three-day passes for two to C2E2.
With C2E2 only a few weeks away, this party was a great warmup to what should be an amazing con, and we can't wait to bring you all the coverage from this year's event, from previews and local folks to look for on the floor to after parties, cosplay and more. Keep your eyes on Third Coast Review in the coming weeks for all the information you can handle on what's to come for C2E2 2018, and we'll see you on the floor!
