Field Notes Coastal Edition Happy Hour Launch Party @ Field Notes HQ, 401 N Racine Ave, 4:00pm- 7:00pm
WHAT: A Happy Hour Launch Party with some incredibly talented folks
SO WHAT: Stop by Field Notes HQ for a chill happy hour party! There will be cold ones from Half Acre Beer Company, snacks from Big Delicious Planet, and an excellent gathering and a fair amount of nerdy design conversation.

WHAT: Some comfort music at Comfort Station
SO WHAT: Every Thursday, that awesome little shack in the middle of Logan Square known as Comfort Station will be hosting some excellent music for you to enjoy! This week will feature some wonderful folky tunes from Fran and local musical mainstays, Bill MacKay and Ryley Walker!
NOW WHAT: There is no cover for this great show, however donations are encouraged and appreciated.
The Therapy Sessions with Vivian McConnell & Doug McCombs @ Hungry Brain, 2319 W Belmont Ave, 8:30pm, 21+
WHAT: Therapy Sessions is where Chicagoans gather around to talk about grown-up stuff.
SO WHAT: Part talent showcase, part interview program, part confession booth, the show describes itself as a “talk show about feelings.” Each week a singer or a talker, plus one listener. come to the Hungry Brain couch to unpack, unburden, and unwind, under the guidance of “Chicago’s Favorite Fake Therapist” Seth Vanek. This week’s guests include Vivian McConnell of V.V. Lightbody and Doug McCombs of Tortoise and Brokeback speaking on the theme of Wisdom.

FRIDAY, MARCH 23rd
Blunt Graffix Presents: Loaded Guns II @ All Star Press, 2775 N Milwaukee Ave, 6:00pm-10:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: The return of Loaded Guns
SO WHAT: It’s been five years since the original Loaded Guns show in 2013 and the highly anticipated sequel, Loaded Guns II, will be held at the new All Star Press in Logan Square! Take a look at some amazing prints with subjects ranging from gangs to gangsters, Japanese Yakuza to Italian mobsters, inspired by film, fiction or fact! This is a cool print show like no other and should not be missed. Check out the full lineup of artists participating in the show at the event page!

An Intimate Spring Evening @ DZ Records, 8548 S 85th Ct, Hickory Hills, IL , 8:00pm - 11:45pm
WHAT: Another DZ Records style party!
SO WHAT: Join DZ Records for a night of great music! There will be a nice lineup of bands rocking out for your aural pleasure including Sails, Fauvely, Emily Blue, and The Tomblands! There will be free water and the event is BYOB.
NOW WHAT: Admission is $10. All proceeds go towards funding DZ Fest 2018
Don't Kid Yourself: Oh, Just Me? @ Volumes Bookcafe, 1474 N Milwaukee Ave, , 8:00pm - 10:00pm
WHAT: Themed comedy for March!
SO WHAT: Don’t Kid Yourself is a comedy variety show where Chicago comedians explore and embrace the weirdness of childhood. Each show features a new theme that will let the audience relive their childhood memories. You can keep up with the ever-changing themes over at the DKY Comedy Facebook Page. This evening, hosted by Sabeen Sadiq, will focus on those times where you learned something as a kid only to find out it’s completely wrong. The show will feature performances by Michael Njuguna Robinson, Caitlin Checkeroski, Liz Getty (with puppets!!), Rima Parikh, and Liz Greenwood.

WHAT: A fun night of amazing music
SO WHAT: Stop by the Hideout and jump into some excellent and diverse music soundscapes. Esso Afrojam Funkbeat takes elements of world music and brings them into a local preservative, adding in beautiful urban poetry and glorious group singing. Joining them will be Luna Blues Machine, Jason Brammers, ANZA, and DJ Moppy!

Great Lakes Tattoo Walk-Up Classic 2018 @ Great Lakes Tattoo, 1148 W Grand Ave, Friday 7:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday and Sunday 11:00am - 7:00pm, 21+
WHAT: Opening party and Flash reveal for the 3rd Annual Walk Up Classic!
SO WHAT: This three-day event is your chance to get a first look at this year’s flash painted specifically for the Walk Up along with the previous two years of flash before coming out and getting tattooed by a fantastic lineup of artists. There will be an open bar with beer from Revolution Brewing, cider from Virtue Cider, Spirits from STOLEN Spirits, wine from Rootstock Wine Company and fernet jello shots from Bangers & Lace. They will also have Jen Jansen here doing tintype portraits!
NOW WHAT: Entry to the opening reception on Friday is free! The quicker you know what design you want, the quicker you get tattooed on the actual Walk Up Classic on Saturday and Sunday! Artists are available on a first come first served basis, so get there early if you want some ink!

WHAT: Volumes Bookcafe is celebrating two years in this great community.
SO WHAT: Volumes Bookcafe will have all sorts of fun in store for the community! Performances, a bunch of raffle items, a tarot card reader, drink specials and fun sale!

8-Bit Brunch & Mortal Kombat 2 Tournament @ Headquarters Beercade, 213 W Institute Pl, 11:00am - 3:00pm, 21+
WHAT: Nostalgic tunes from your favorite games while you brunch
SO WHAT: Headquarters Beercade will be throwing their second installment of 8-Bit Brunch! While you enjoy drool-worthy brunch specials and some Goose Island “Sophie-mosas,” the 8-Bit Boys will be playing live music from your favorite classic videos games. They’ll also be having a classic Mortal Kombat 2 tournament with a grand prize of $100!
