Gorillaz creators Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett
It's highly unusual for
Gorillaz to put out two albums within a year of each other, but it's unheard of for them to have tour stops in Chicago two years in a row. Luckily for us, the band has decided to break the norm and we're getting both!
On June 29, the band will release
The Now Now, their 6th studio album, and while there's sure to be a host of guest appearances on the album, Gorillaz is keeping mum on most of them for now. However we can confirm Jack Black (?!) makes an appearance, since he is featured in the first single from the album, "Humility." (You can watch the video below and revel in Black's usual sartorial sharpness.)
And to promote the album, Gorillaz is embarking on a world tour that brings them to
The Untied Center on October 16. Tickets went on sale last Friday, but I'm told they're selling fast, so if you want a chance to see
one of the best live shows I've seen in the last couple of years, you had better grab yours now. Like,
now now. (SeewhatIdidthere?)
