SO WHAT: This fall, Shedd expands its evening offerings to three themed nights a week. If you love Jazzin’ at the Shedd, you’ll love these additional after-hours opportunities! This evening's House Party features "Originator of House Music" Jesse Saunders! NO WHAT: Tickets are $25, but Shedd After Hours events are FREE to Illinois residents and include all exhibits. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 7th Mosher: Dipso Facto – Comic Book Release Party & Art Show @ Galerie F, 2415 N Milwaukee Ave, 6:00pm - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Dip a little little bit of street art in you comic book! SO WHAT: Don’t miss your chance to check out Mosher’s current body of work inspired by pages from his new comic, Dipso Facto. SATURDAY & SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th & 9th Renegade Craft Fair @ Wicker Park, Division Street between Damen and Ashland, 11:00am - 7:00pm, All Ages WHAT: A craft fair focused on independent makers. SO WHAT: Over 300+ independent crafters and makers will be at this Renegade Craft Fair celebrating DIY spirit for two amazing days celebrating 16 years of this flagship hometown fair. There will be DJ sets by Lumpen Radio and Reckless Records, tons of food trucks to keep your energy up and hunger down, and an array of creative activities to get make your day as creative as it can be! SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 8th 2018 Miller Lite Chicago Bears Block Party @ Logan Square on North Milwaukee Avenue between North Spaulding Avenue and North Kedzie Avenue, Noon to 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Kick off football season at the 2018 Miller Lite Chicago Bears Block Party. SO WHAT: What better way to get rady for football season than with Bears alumni, food, drinks, football drills, prizes and some excellent music! Atlas Genius, Ember Oceans, The Punch an Emo vs Pop Punk DJ Set, BiFunkal, ESSO, and Senn Alan Band will provide the tunes during this epic tailgate block party! NOW WHAT: It's free! So get out there and enjoy this cool block party Beer & Bands for Comfort Station 2018 @ Illinois Centennial Monument, 3200 W Logan Blvd, 4:00pm - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: Enjoy free, live music in the heart of Logan Square while supporting Comfort Station! SO WHAT: Grab a drink with friends while enjoying local musicians, artists, and independent record labels for a day-long concert at the foot of the beloved Illinois Centennial Monument! Dos Santos, Campdogzz, Phoelix, Dim will be providing the live tunes while Bric-A-Brac Records and Scottie McNiece of International Anthem will handle some DJ sets throughout the day! NOW WHAT: Entry is free, but this is a fundraiser, so there is a $20 Advance ($25 Day of) wristband which grants you access to an ever-frothing beer garden featuring complimentary Goose Island brews and White Claw bubbles. JC Brooks Band Plays 70s Protest Soul & Phillip-Michael Scales @ City Winery, 1200 W Randolph St, 6:00pm - 10:30pm, 21+ WHAT: Two amazing local soul artists taking over City Winery! SO WHAT: The Red Black & Blue (Vol. 1) EP is JC Brooks' follow-up to 2017's The Neon Jungle and explores political and social themes surrounding being black in America in 2018. He will be performing the album and the music that inspired it along with his excellent band. Joining him will be Phillip-Michael Scales who recently released his EP, Sinner Songwriter, full of his catchy and thoughtful songwriting, blending his passion of indie rock with his passion for bluesy soul. NOW WHAT: Tickets start at $18 for this great show! Tuesday Bassen & The Little Friends of Printmaking @ Rotofugi, 2780 N Lincoln Ave, 7:00pm - 10:00pm, All Ages WHAT: The Little Friends of Printmaking (LFOP for short) and Tuesday Bassen stop by Rotofugi for a new show!! SO WHAT: LFOP are undeniably amazing printmakers and artists! They are returning to the midwest (after relocating from Wisconsin to Los Angeles) with new prints for this fantastic show! They'll be joined by the fantastic Tuesday Bassen! The opening reception will also feature music by DJ Sean Doe plus complimentary snacks and soft drinks (BYOB if you want to have alcohol). SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 9th Bit Brigade performs: Mega Man II + Castlevania @ Beat Kitchen, 2100 W Belmont Ave, 8:00pm, 17+ WHAT: Video games and music collide SO WHAT: Bit Brigade merges the world of live music with the speed running video game scene for one hell of a show.  All the high stakes of the video game world are present as a gamer attempts to flawlessly play a speed run (finishing a game very quickly) live on stage while the band soundtracks the action with a full cover of the game music with their intense skills. This evening will feature Mega Man II and Catlevania! NOW WHAT: Tickets are $15 for this cool show!
