There are markets, concerts, festivals, dinosaurs and maybe a little Slime waiting for you!

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8th
Esmé Patterson with Ester @ Schubas, 3159 N Southport Ave, 8:00pm, 18+
WHAT: A wonderful songwriter returning to Chicago
SO WHAT: Esme Patterson has been crafting beautiful songs for quite some time now. Starting out with Paper Bird and then delving into her own solo works beginning in 2012, Patterson has shown immense talent in her songwriting and vocal abilities. Woman To Woman in particular looks at what were once one-dimensional women in songs of our past and builds them up to nuance and even more important figures in the musical landscape. Her latest, more rocking album We Were Wild has been an eye-opening experience to just how wild and fun Patterson can be! She will be joined by the ever talented local band Ester. WHAT: Dinosaurs invade Navy Pier
SO WHAT: Jurassic Quest is one of the largest and most realistic dinosaur exhibitions. Guests will walk through the Cretaceous period, the Jurassic Period and The Triassic period and experience what it would have been like to be among living, breathing dinosaurs. Ride a dinosaur, dig for some fossils and more at this dino-centric event!

Red Bull Music Festival Chicago @ Various Locations
WHAT: Red Bull returns to Chicago with another month-long celebration of music.
SO WHAT: Red Bull Music Festival Chicago is the latest installment of Red Bull’s critically acclaimed international music series. This month-long lineup of expertly curated original programming spanning the city’s diverse music genres, exploring and celebrating Chicago’s rich cultural heritage while spotlighting its modern music landscape.
NOW WHAT: Nov. 9th @ Saffron Rails, 1365 N Cherry Ave, 7:00pm, 18+: Drone Activity Chicago is a three-stage night featuring the most progressive artists working in noise, drone and experimental music. This concert is for those who want to feel the music rattle every molecule as score eerie, dynamic light shows burst out. Headlined by Sunn O)))’s Stephen O’Malley and revered Japanese noise musician Merzbow, the event will also showcase Chicago’s most extreme independent artists. including Negative Scanner’s Rebecca Valeriano-Flores, Olivia Block, Thoom, ONO,TALsounds, Quicksails, Bruce Lamont, Matchess, Carol Genetti, HOGG, Rebecca Valeriano-Flores, Fire-Toolz, and Katherine Young! Tickets are $10 for this sure to be amazing experience!
Nov. 10th @ Thalia Hall, 1807 S Allport St, 8:00pm All Ages: CupcakKe is easily one of the most explicit artists you’ll ever see live. The 21-year-old Chicago native has dozens of songs and videos that unabashedly deliver one vulgar lyric after another. These sex-positive tracks push forward empowerment for heterosexual women and LGBTQ community. Beyond the sexual content. CupcaKKe also addresses police brutality, the importance of black femininity and body positivity. Tickets are $15 for this sure to be amazing experience!
Nov. 11th @ Saffron Rails, 1365 N Cherry Ave, 4:00pm All Ages: Xicago is a two-stage event celebrating Chicago’s vibrant Latinx music community. Headlining DJ crew Pachanga will play the greatest hits from its infamous club night. Other performers include Kaina, Tatiana Hazel, Navarro, DJ Boi Jeanius, and Dos Santos! Expect to dance from beginning to end. Tickets are $9 for this wonderful all ages night!
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 9th
Nnamdi Ogbonnaya / Sen Morimoto / Glitter Moneyyy @ Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave, 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: A Nnamdi show full of local acts!
SO WHAT: Multi-instrumentalist Nnamdi Ogbonnaya is an incredibly prolific local musician whose musical output ranges from drumming in bands like Monobody to rapping on his own. Ogbonnaya is on a SOOPER fall tour that will continue his progress as an experimental producer and rapper. He'll be jamming along with fellow Chicago acts Sen Morimoto with his jazzy sound and the sex positive vibes of Glitter Moneyyy (the three ys, not a typo).

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10th
Handmade Market Chicago @ Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave., Noon - 4:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: Shopping, eating, and drinking all in one place
SO WHAT: Grab some food next door at Bite Cafe, maybe a drink from the Empty Bottle Bar, and start shopping the Handmade Market Chicago! They will be bringing over 30 makers of beautiful and unique items to the Empty Bottle! Join in and see what all the sellers will have to offer. Double Dare Live! @ Rosemont Theatre, 5400 N River Rd, Rosemont, IL, 7:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: A little bit of slime never hurt anyone
SO WHAT: The messiest game show on TV is on the road! Double Dare Live is bringing all the action and excitement of Nickelodeon’s hugely popular TV show to the stage. Slime soaking, pie plastering, and booger busting will be on display hosted by the Double Dare legend Marc Summers! You might even get chosen to compete to win by answering brain-bending trivia questions, complete messy physical stunts and even run the legendary obstacle course!

SO WHAT: Some shows are nice and chill experience where you can relax with out a care in the world. Then there are Grapetooth shows, where you’ll be busting out your rowdiest moves to celebrate the local band impressive and entertaining sound. Grapetooth shows are like no other: completely off the rails and totally fun. Joining them at this In the Round show at Thalia Hall will be another pair of local favorites: Dehd and Sports Boyfriend!
