It's a brand new year! 2018 is behind us now, so let's get focused on 2019. It's that time of year when you buckle down and get started on your resolutions in hopes of starting the year off right. WHAT: The last chance to check out this season's lights!
SO WHAT: ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo makes the most wonderful time of year even better with the most wonderful type of event.The one of a kind experience offers fun, free, family-oriented holiday celebrations that feature beautiful displays and incredible seasonal activities all under the glow of 2.5 million lights! Check out their event page for a full rundown of all the fun that is waiting for you at the annual ZooLights event!
NOW WHAT: Entry is free! Tickets for the Winter Experiences, including the carousel, ferris wheel, maze, and much more will be available on site for $3 each, a package of 10 for $27, or a package of 20 for $51.

WHAT: A little bit of music to help ease you into the weekend
SO WHAT: CHIRP Radio has been rocking the airwaves for over a year (and over a decade online), so what better way to help support their cause of getting great music out to the masses than with a fantastic show at the Hideout! Check out Kodakrome's rapid fire punk, the Midwest punk of DCS and Peach Fuzz's pure shot of rock!

WHAT: One huge party with tons of performances over three days
SO WHAT: Ian's Party is an annual showcase of the best music in Chicago, with some friends from all over the U.S. joining in on the festivities. Occurring on the first weekend of every year for quite a while, Ian's Party has undergone many iterations, transformations, and evolution. This is the perfect way to catch up on local acts and keep the new year's fun going. Some of the amazing bands playing the party this year include Avantist, Campdogzz, Bev Rage and the Drinks, Meat Wave, and so many more! You can check out the full schedule at their site!
NOW WHAT: Weekend passes are currently $50. Single day passes are $25 for Friday and Saturday and $15 for Sunday. Don't miss out on this party!

WHAT: Another Excellent ANCHR Magazine showcase, this time around for their Anniversary!
SO WHAT: By now you should know that ANCHR puts on some fantastic shows that really give you a taste of our local music scene and beyond. For there 2nd anniversary show, they’ve enlisted Slow Pulp, V.V. Lightbody, Cold Beaches, Ruins, and a DJ set from Ohmme!

SATURDAY, JANUARY 5th
Triple Threat New Works by Mac Blackout, Mosher & Daniel Wilson @ Rotofugi Designer Toy Store Gallery, 2780 N Lincoln Ave, 7;00pm - 10:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: This solo, wait, duo, wait, TRIPLE artist exhibition at Chicago's coolest toy shop!
SO WHAT: This Triple Threat of a show will have the vivid pop art psychedelia of Mac Blackout, streetwise and bold character-driven works by Mosher and the hauntingly beautiful and introspective pieces of Daniel Wilson. This great show will highlight the diverse styles in Chicago's excellent art scene!
NOW WHAT: Admission is free, so get out there, check out art and enjoy music by DJ Sean Doe plus complimentary snacks and soft drinks (BYOB if you want to have alcohol). Exhibit continues through January 27, 2019.

WHAT: Celebrate the first weekend of 2019 with White Mystery and friends!
SO WHAT: The sibling duo of White Mystery has been making some of the funnest music for just over a decade! They're released their 9th album Hellion Blender last year and 2019 is looking like another great year for the band. This awesome show will be spilling over with their psychedelic punk rock, so you know it'll be a great time. Joining them will the heavy noise rock of Touched by Ghoul, Avantist's boisterous rock, and smooth tunes of Ethel Shank!

WHAT: Some insanely good wrestling
SO WHAT: Pro Wrestling is going through a renaissance and Warrior Wrestling 3 is a perfect example of it. Some amazingly talented performers including Tessa Blanchard, Brian Cage, Bandido, Pentagon OM, Matt Sydal, Eddie Edwards, and many more will be putting on one hell of a show!
NOW WHAT: Tickets start at $30 ,go catch some of the best pro wrestling talent out there!
SUNDAY, JANUARY 6th
Logan Square Farmers Market @ Emporium Arcade Bar Logan Square, 2363 N Milwaukee Ave, 10:00am -3:00pm
WHAT: The Logan Square Farmers Market, one of the few farmers markets in Chicago that runs weekly through winter, providing much appreciated direct income to farmers and the local food economy.
SO WHAT: You'll find 35+ local (farmers within 250mi of Chicago and closer for food purveyors) farm and food vendors providing some much needed local goods throughout the day. There will also be select arcade games available to play throughout the market and tunes from local musicians from 11:30am until 2pm! Plus select drinks like bloody marys, Irish cream, farmers market cocktail specials and drip coffee will be waiting for you!
