THURSDAY, MARCH 7th Women Empowerment Show @ Gallery 1070, 1070 W Granville Ave, 6:00pm - 8:00pm, All Ages WHAT: The work of Chicago women artists will be exhibited in the Women Empowerment exhibit SO WHAT: Artists whose work will be shown include Nancy Pirri, Jennifer Riegler McNulty and Nicole Van Dyken. FRIDAY, MARCH 8th  Spirit of Revolt Art Show @ Revolution Brewing, 3340 N Kedzie Ave, 6:00pm - 10:00pm, 21+ WHAT: Join the women of Revolution Brewing for a celebration of International Women’s Day! SO WHAT: Revolution Brewing will be throwing a gallery show with works from some of Chicago’s most exciting female artists. They’ll have Spirit of Revolt — an Imperial IPA created by Revolution’s female employees — pouring on draft throughout the night! There will also be limited edition Spirit of Revolt merchandise available, an artist offering henna tattoos, and delicious food from Morsels Patisserie, The Empanada Bike, and more. Funny Ha Ha: You Went There @ The Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia Ave, 6:30pm, 21+ WHAT: A wonderful installment of this literary humor reading series SO WHAT: This edition of Funny Ha Ha, hosted by Claire Zulkey, will feature a bevy of local writers including Dance Dance Party Party den mother Jennon Bell Hoffmann, You're Being Ridiculous! producer and host Jeremy Owens, Longform contributor, basic human Cassandra Morrison, Pilsen Stand Up producer Jaime de Leon, Host of PBS' The Interview Show Mark Bazer, Writer & Bon Vivant at saltadomag Ines Bellina, and Tall filmmaker Steve Delahoyde. NOW WHAT: There is a $10 donation and proceeds will benefit Sit Stay Read SATURDAY, MARCH 9th Handmade Market Chicago @ Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave, Noon - 4:00pm, WHAT: Shopping, eating, and drinking all in one place SO WHAT: Grab some food next door at Bite Cafe, maybe a drink from the Empty Bottle Bar, and start shopping the Handmade Market Chicago! They will be bringing over 30 makers of beautiful and unique items to the Empty Bottle! Join in and see what all the sellers will have to offer. The Annual SXSW Send Off Party @ The Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia Ave, 4:00pm - 11:30pm, 21+ WHAT: When SXSW beckons bands to its musical platform, The Hideout will make sure the bands get a worthy send off party! Stern Pro Circuit Championship @ Bottom Lounge, 1375 W Lake St, 2:00pm - 11:30pm, All Ages WHAT: An event fit for all the pinball wizards out there! SO WHAT: Hosted by Brian “Q” Quinn of Impractical Jokers and MC’d by Jack Danger of Dead Flip Pinball Streaming, the 2019 Stern Pro Circuit Championship final will feature 40 of the world’s best pinball players on the planet battling it out for pinball supremacy! Plus to cap off the night there will be a live performance by Ed Robertson from the Barenaked Ladies! All brought to you by PAPA – Professional & Amateur Pinball Association, IFPA – International Flipper Pinball Association and Stern Pinball. NOW WHAT: Tickets are $30 for this fun night SUNDAY MARCH 10th Logan Square Farmer's Market @ Emporium Arcade Bar Logan Square, 2363 N Milwaukee Ave, 10:00am - 3:00pm, 21+ WHAT: The Logan Square Farmer's Market providing much appreciated direct income to farmers and the local food economy. SO WHAT:  You'll find 35+ local (farmers within 250mi of Chicago and closer for food purveyors) farm and food vendors providing some much need local goods throughout the day. There will also be select arcade games available to play throughout the market and tunes from local musicians from 11:30am until 2pm ! TIME | SPACE Jazz Series @ Freehand Chicago, 19 E Ohio St, 6:00pm - 8:00pm, 21+ WHAT: Some excellent music to help end your weekend the right way SO WHAT: Every Sunday at Broken Shaker you will be hearing some of the best psychadelic jazz in the city, brought to you in two 45 minute sets played by a different trio every week.
