THURSDAY, MAY 9th
Game Night @ The Robey, 2022 W North Ave, 6:00pm - 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: Cards Against Humanity is taking over the Robey Lounge!
SO WHAT: This Game Night at Robey Lounge will let you test out new, unreleased Cards Against Humanity cards and play other games like Secret Hitler, Magic Maze, Hamsterolle, and more! No prior knowledge is required as the CAH staff will teach you how to play! There will be $10 drink specials throughout the night!

Vinyl Me, Please: The Spins ft. Experience Unlimited @ Sleeping Village, 3734 W Belmont Ave, 6:00pm -9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: A night of vinyl goodness
SO WHAT: Vinyl Me, Please is taking over Sleeping Village for their monthly The Spins event, this time featuring VMP’s May 2019 Record of the Month: Experience Unlimited’s Free Yourself! It’ll be a night of great music, meeting the local vinyl-loving community, and plenty of drinks. You could even win a copy just by showing up and hanging out!

Freshman: A Show About Your Terrible Early Art @ Transistor, 5224 N. Clark Street, 7:00pm - 8:30pm
WHAT: Relive the terror of your earliest works by looking at someone’s else’s early writing
SO WHAT: Everyone has an insufferable piece of writing or first attempt at performance art hiding in an attic somewhere. Hosted by Annie Russell, Freshman will welcome some of the best comics in Chicago to share their early work at this not-to-be-missed night of comedy. Diaries, letters, artwork, songs, it’s all fair game tonight. Features readers will include Christopher Santiago, Emily OMeara, Sam Saulsbury, and Will Isenberg!

Perturbator / GosT / Replicant @ Thalia Hall, 1807 S Allport St, 7:30pm, 17+
WHAT: Some excellent electronic sounds for your evening
SO WHAT: France’s half human, half synthesizer Perturbator will be stopping by stateside for a spring tour. Perturbator is well known for his scores of horror thriller The Guest and acclaimed video game Hotline Miami 1 & 2. The soundscapes created by Perturbator are the retro futuristic synths that grab hold of you and make you want to sway the night away. Perturbator will have a new production in tow including an updated light show and a live drummer on stage aiding in Perturbator’s already engrossing sound! Check out his latest single “Excess” for a small taste of what to expect. Joining him will be fellow electronic producer GosT and local dark synth purveyors Replicant!

WHAT: Indulge both your nerdy and your naughty sides with Nerd-Lesque at HQ with talent from Bim Bam Boom!
SO WHAT: From Harley Quinn and Catwoman to Poison Ivy and a number of other femme fatales of the nerd-world, this show offers an opportunity to see them like never before. The Lower Level of Hadquarters welcomes these characters and more every 2nd Thursday of the month to see them perfom in this tantalizing burlesque show!

FRIDAY, MAY 10th
Jessica Pratt & Joseph Shabason @ Sleeping Village, 3734 W Belmont Ave, 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: An evening of warm and welcoming music
SO WHAT: There is something particularly special about Jessica Pratt’s music. Her unique voice carefully maneuvers around delicate instrumentation with great poise, making for a sound that you’ll want to listen to for ages. Her latest album, Quiet Signs, see her in the a proper studio, giver her already impressive songwriting even more to show off. She will be joined by saxophonist Joseph Shabason and his experimental blend of tones.

DEHD / The Hecks / Mavis the Dog @ Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave, 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: A show that will sure get you in the perfect mood for a Friday night
SO WHAT: DEHD make the kind of music you just want to groove along to all night long. Their latest release Water, brings DEHD’s tunes to their haziest peak, full of all the reverb and a touch of surf rock vibes that is down right magical to experience live. Joining them will be the noisy ambiance of The Hecks and the laid back goodness of Mavis the Dog!

Lissie @ Evanston SPACE, 1245 Chicago Ave, 9:15pm
WHAT: An amazing musician at one of our favorite music venues, Evanston SPACE!
SO WHAT: Lissie wears many hats: Midwesterner, farm owner, alt-pop chanteuse. The last of which is celebrated on her latest album When I’m Alone: The Piano Retrospective. The album reimagines some of her beautiful songs as vocal and piano only arrangements, featuring some exceptional covers of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams”and Dixie Chick’s “Cowboy Take Me Away”.
NOW WHAT: Her early show sold out, but the late show tickets are still available starting at $26! Lissie has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket sold will go to support NRDC and their work to safeguard the earth – its people, its plants and animals, and the natural systems on which all life depends
SATURDAY & SUNDAY, MAY 11th & 12th
Renegade Craft Fair @ Halsted St. in Pilsen, 18th Street & Halsted, 11:00am - 6:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: A craft fair focused on independent makers.
SO WHAT: Over 180 independent crafters and makers will be at this Renegade Craft Fair celebrating DIY spirit for two amazing days celebrating Mother’s Day Weekend! There will be DJ sets by Lumpen Radio and Reckless Records, tasty craft brews by Half Acre Beer, tons of food trucks to keep your energy up and hunger down, and an array of DIY workshops to make your day as creative as it can be!
NOW WHAT: The event is free and open to the public. The fair will be on Halsted St. in Pilsen Between W 18th St. and S Canalport Ave., giving you a great spot to shop and support DIY crafters.
SATURDAY, MAY 11th

WHAT: Another DZ Records style party!
SO WHAT: Join DZ Records for a night of great music! There will be a nice lineup of bands rocking out for your aural pleasure including Afterglows, Neighbors You Know, Them Dead Poets, and Matthew McNeal!

SUNDAY, MAY 12th
Lost & Found- Resale Pop up @ Emporium Arcade Bar Wicker Park, 1366 N Milwaukee Ave, 3:00pm - 8:00pm, 21+
WHAT: A chance to add some new clothes to your wardrobe
SO WHAT: This is a one of a kind curated resale event where you can find the most unique items catering to those of the underground! Come for some cool thrifting, drinks at the bar, and hang out with some great people. The eclectic soundtrack of the evening will be provided by Scary Lady Sarah!

WHAT: Some excellent music to help end your weekend the right way
SO WHAT: Every Sunday at Broken Shaker you will be hearing some of the best psychadelic jazz in the city, brought to you in two 45 minute sets played by a different trio every week.
