ALL WEEKEND LONG, JULY 25th - 28th
35th Annual Newberry Book Fair @ Newberry Library, 60 W Walton St, Thursday & Friday Noon - 8:00pm, Saturday & Sunday, 10:00am - 6:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: A huge book fair supporting the Newberry Library
SO WHAT: There is no such thing as too many books. Newberry Library knows this and their annual book fair is a great place to add one, two, or a dozen new books to your growing library. Whether it's cookbooks, biographies, children's literature or heartbreaking works of staggering literary genius; with over 120,000 books for sale there's a good chance you'll find it at the fair.
NOW WHAT: Make some room on your shelves for some new books because admission is free, and all proceeds support the Newberry. Also, Sunday is half-priced day, so add even more books on that sale day!
47th Annual Fiesta del Sol @ Pilsen, 1400 W Cermak Rd, Thursday, 5:00pm -10:00pm, Friday & Saturday 11:00am - 11:00pm, Sunday 11:00am - 10:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: Join the Pilsen Neighbors Community Council for the 47th annual Fiesta del Sol!
SO WHAT: Fiesta del Sol celebrates the Pilsen neighborhood's culture with live entertainment, local art, a variety of food, carnival rides, a children’s area, educational resources for parents and youth, soccer games, and much more. Don't forget to check out the House of Sol for some excellent DJ sets!
NOW WHAT: Admission is free for these great cultural festivities! There will be a $60 Mega Pass available for you to enjoy four days of unlimited carnival rides!
THURSDAY, JULY 25th
Ovef Ow / MOIRA / Impulsive Hearts @ The Owl, 2521 N Milwaukee Ave, 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: The fun show for you summer night
SO WHAT: Double down on summer vibes with this trio of fun and warm sounding bands. Ovef Ow will deliver wonderful surf and garage/punk-inspired sounds that don't hold back, Cincinnati's Moira and their gorgeous atmospheric noise, and Impulsive Hearts dishing out their sun soaked surf rock shoegaze for you to sway along to all night

The Curls / J Fernandez / Fran @ The Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia Ave., 21+
WHAT: Three amazing local bands delivering some amazing tunes!
SO WHAT: The Hideout tends to have some pretty stellar lineups and this Thursday show proves it! The Curls will be bringing their art pop jams, J Fernandez will mesmerize you with his enveloping psychedelic pop jams, and it'll all kick off with Fran's beautiful folk tunes!

FRIDAY - SUNDAY, JULY 26th - 28th
Wicker Park Fest @ Wicker Park, along Milwaukee Avenue between North and Ashland avenues, Friday 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturday & Sunday Noon - 10:00pm, All Ages
WHAT: An amazing festival in one of the cooler Chicago neighborhoods.
SO WHAT: It wouldn't be a summer weekend in Chicago without a worthwhile festival taking place. Wicker Park Fest brings together great local food, arts and crafts, a kids’ area, local retail vendors, and an insane lineup of music. Some of the fantastic musical artists include Screaming Females, Durand Jones, Emily Blue, Wavves, Leikeli47, Open Mike Eagel, Superchunk, Fran, and many more! The festival takes place along Milwaukee Avenue from North Avenue to Ashland Ave.
NOW WHAT: It's only a $10 dollar donation which keeps this great festival going year after year, so there's no excuse not to head to Wicker Park and have a great time.
FRIDAY, JULY 26th
Solemn Oath + Warpigs Reggies Rooftop Pig Roast @ Reggies, 2105 S State St, 6:00pm - 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: The pig roast of your dreams
SO WHAT: Spend your evening on top of Reggies eating some delicious pig roast and sides while enjoying some equally tasty brews form Solemn Oath and Warpigs. The collab between the two breweries has been legendary and this fun summer night will surely be as well. There will be plenty of Warpigs and Solemn Oath brews on special to enjoy while you chow down on roast pig!

SATURDAY, JULY 27th
Vans House Parties: The Rapture @ House of Vans, 113 N Elizabeth St, 7:00pm, 18+
WHAT: A series of spectacular shows at a cool skate park/music venue (and they’re free!)
SO WHAT: House of Vans has been killing it since it opened a couple of years ago. Show after show of top tier artists delivering top tier shows. this year it gets better as the House Parties series returns with its best lineup yet!
