Playtime Radio: Talk About Art, Books, Politics, Music and Magic
Third Coast Review is collaborating with Playtime with Bill Turck and Kerri Kendall. We appear on their Sunday afternoon arts radio show once or twice a month. They're on WCGO, 1590AM each Sunday from 1 to 3pm and streaming on Facebook. From now on, you'll be able to listen to each week's Playtime right here on our site.
Here’s host Bill Turck’s description of what you’ll hear on this first show.
In the first hour, artist Megan Williamson with some local breaking art news. In our continuing author series, two powerful books of trauma, family and recovery. Janet Sutherland-Madden's incredible story of surviving a brain aneurysm in Nose Over Toes. Deb Sheesley Tokarz' I Cu Copper reveals an all too common issue of copper toxicity that affects many women and nearly caused her to commit suicide. We end the hour with part one of SM6, a great band out of western suburb Geneva. You'll be hearing much more from these six brothers and sisters, including a snap quiz in the second hour!
In the second hour, a quiz for family band SM6, finishing up a nine-city West Coast tour, and about to start a new tour. You will love these incredibly talented young people. Nancy Bishop from Third Coast Review.com on the subject of art and politics and her article on two books, a play and a movie about the Irish Troubles. Plus magician Sean Masterson and the mystery of his great uncle's coin and the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition. You and see his show, Timeless Magic, Wednesdays now through October 2 at the Chicago Magic Lounge 5050 N. Clark St., chicagomagiclounge.co
