THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24th

WHAT: Laid-back tunes for your Thursday night
SO WHAT: Mild High Club is the project of Chicago native Alexander Brettin. He dives headlong into a psychedelic haze, making Mild High Club share a musical kinship with the likes of Mac Demarco and Ariel Pink. Following a string of successful albums, 2015’s Timeline, 2016’s Skiptracing, and 2017’s Sketches of Brunswick East (with King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard), MHC are back in Chicago for a two night stint. You still have a chance to experience their magical sound tonight to set off your weekend right!

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 25th
DoomCo Designs & Galerie F Present: Survive! @ Galerie F, 2415 N Milwaukee Ave, 6:00pm -10:00pm, 21+
WHAT: DoomCo Designs is proud to announce its first ever gallery exhibition, at Chicago’s own Galerie F!
SO WHAT: DoomCo Designs has created an immersive experience that focuses on the world’s first product and toy designed entirely in virtual reality (Oculus Medium), Tarbus the Tardigrade! All are welcome to examine the trials and tribulations of an immortal tardigrade grasping for meaning in the world. The exhibition will feature a new sculpture and laser cut works by DoomCo Designs, a slew of contributed artworks, and incredible customized tardigrades from an all-star lineup of toy modifiers, illustrators, and other artists! Libations will be provided by Crook & Marker and the late night beats by Mojek!

Hallowzine 2019 @ Cards Against Humanity Theatre, 1551 W Homer St, 7:00pm - 10:00pm
WHAT: Zines, costumes, and zines
SO WHAT: Chicago Zine Fest is teaming up with Midwest Perzine Fest for a spooky HALLOWZINE event! This night of frights will feature some excellent readers, seasonal treats, and more! Costumes are encouraged, so come dressed to impress! Featured readings curated by Jonas of Midwest Perzine Fest include: Amelia Hruby, Anne Elizabeth Moore, Dave Roche, Johnny Misfit, Jonas, Justin Birnholz, and Nichole Bael!
NOW WHAT: Admission is $10 at the door. Proceeds will help fund Chicago Zine Fest! This is event is BYOB.
Marika Hackman @ Sleeping Village, 3734 W Belmont Ave, 9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: The genus of Marika Hackman returns to Chicago!
SO WHAT: Marika Hackman‘s songwriting has taken another turn. Hackman has come a long way from her first show in Chicago with Laura Marling, where she focused around intricate folk songs full of dark and biting lyrics. Her second album I’m Not Your Man saw her add a sense of britpop to her folk style, and her latest Any Human Friend burst forward even more. Hackman’s songs are fuller, brighter, and fiercer than ever before, holding on to their wonderfully dark beginnings. Joining her at Sleeping Village will be Girl Friday!

Cosmic Country Showcase @ The Hideout, 1354 W Wabansia Ave,9:00pm, 21+
WHAT: Take a country song, slap on some psychedelic vibes, and send it off to space during this concert
SO WHAT: Have you ever found yourself pining for some good ol’ country entertainment like the Grand Ole Opry? Well, you're in luck! The Hideout has set up the most out-there show you’ll see this year: the Cosmic Country Showcase. Hosted by Tim Parker, the showcase will feature psychedelic, out-of-this-world country covers and originals from the likes of Andrew Sa, Camilo Medina (Divino Niño), Caroline Campbell, Alex Grelle, Irregular Girl (Regina Rodriguez), Andy Rowell, Glamhag, and a headlining set from Scott Hirsch!

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 26th

WHAT: Another DZ Records style party!
SO WHAT: Join DZ Records for a night of great music as they dress up in a cool Halloween costume and party! There will be a nice lineup of bands rocking out for your aural pleasure including Daydream Review, Shi la Rosa, Pledge Drive, and Dead Freddie!
NOW WHAT: Admission is $10. All proceeds go toward the performing artists.
The Rocky Horror Picture Show @ Music Box Theatre, 3733 N Southport Ave, 11:30pm
WHAT: A year-round tradition that is all the more spectacular during October!
SO WHAT: Midnight Madness is back at the Music Box once again for four shows this October. This edition of The Rocky Horror Picture Show is set to sell out so don’t miss out on some extraordinary treats including: virgin ceremonies, live performances, costume contests (categories are Best Rocky Horror costume and Best Overall), vintage trailers, dance parties, and a feature presentation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with audience participation and a full shadow cast brought to you by Midnight Madness!

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 27th
The Poetry Brothel: All Saints & Sinners @ The Den Theatre, 1331 N Milwaukee Ave, 7:00pm - 11:00pm, 21+
WHAT: The Poetry Brothel is an interactive poetry experience set up as a 19th-century brothel. Character poets offer private, one-on-one readings of their original work in candlelit back rooms…for money. The main room is an immersive art salon that fuses poetry, burlesque, live music, vaudeville, aerials, performance art, visual art, magic and mysticism.
SO WHAT: The evening will feature the burlesque stylings of the Chicago Academy of Burlesque and rap by GLITTER MONEYYY, music by Bowmanville Swing, tarot by The Divine Fox and Opal A Day, and free-hand silhouette portraiture by silhouette artist Nina Nightingale. The hosts will be Professor Pearl Devour and Madame N Gomorrah. Chicago's Poetry Brothel is organized by the local chapter of the Poetry Society of New York, founded in 2007, which has a troupe that tours nationally and has chapters in cities all over the world.
NOW WHAT: Tickets are $40-$75. Doors at 7pm. Show begins at 8pm. Costumes and/or formal wear are encouraged but not required. The event is 21+.
Halloween (1978 & 2018) Double Feature @ Music Box Theatre, 3733 N Southport Ave, 7:00pm
WHAT: A perfect double feature for the Halloween season
SO WHAT: Head over to the Music Box and catch the film that started it all over 40 years ago paired with its newly christened alternate sequel. Both the 1978 and the 2018 Halloween will be screening, thanks to Creepy Co.! This event will include a pop-up shop with event-exclusive items (amongst many others) and a pre-screening reception with special drinks, DJs, and giveaways!
