This summer's music festival lineups are shaping up to be pretty fantastic and we can add one more to the list. Back in February Sound & Gravity announced the second showcase of eclectic music genres would be taking place September 3-6, but today the festival released their full lineup/schedule and it's a doozy!
Sound & Gravity is a multi-venue festival that is certainly growing as it will bring together over 50 musical acts at wonderful stages in the Bricktown/Avondale neighborhood, including Constellation, Hungry Brain, Judson & Moore, Beat Kitchen, Guild Row, Rockwell on the River; as well as two additional stages this year: Rockwell Patio and Athenaeum in Lakeview. Sound & Gravity also serves as a fundraiser for Constellation Performing Arts, a not-for-profit organization that is a cornerstone of Chicago’s music scene.
The sophomore edition of Sound & Gravity keeps the amazing curation going with a stellar lineup of musicians including Grouper, Son Lux, Lee Ranaldo & Leah Singer, Contre Jour, Marc Ribot, Hailu Mergia, American Analog Set, Alabaster DePlume, Lucrecia Dalt, Mary Halvorson & Sylvie Courvoisier, and many more. The local flavor is, once again, incredibly strong as the lineup also features acts with strong Chicago ties like Natural Information Society & Bitchin Bajas; Joe McPhee, Ken Vandermark & Chris Corsano; Resavoir; Uhlmann, Johnson, Wilkes; Gregory Uhlmann Extra Stars; Dos Santos; Twin Talk; Advance Base; Jessica Risker; Leroy the Poet; Official Claire; TV Buddha; Uniflora; Microplastique and more.
