Third Coast Rewind: Kill Your Darlings

KYD-typewriterWelcome back to Third Coast Rewind. We're back with something a little different. Instead of an in-depth interview, this edition of the podcast puts the spotlight on Third Coast Review and Tree Falls Production's Kill Your Darlings, a live lit/improv mashup series over at Comedy Sportz Chicago. The series is the product of director and producer Karin McKie's vast imagination. Each night of Kill Your Darlings is framed by one of the seven cultural categories that match the pages on Third Coast Review (Stages, Screens, Music, Art, Lit, Food, and Beyond) and lets readers and improv actors give their takes on the evening's theme. This episode features a few excerpts from the Screens and Music nights of the series. Mishell Livio imparts her experiences as an film and TV extra, Emily Drevets details the highs and lows of first love, and Colin Smith expounds on personal connections made through music. If you would like to attend Kill Your Darlings, there are a few shows left in the shows run.  They will be held from 7 to 8:30pm on Wednesdays through September 14. CSz Theater Chicago is at 929 W. Belmont, just east of the Belmont CTA station. Tickets are $10 or $5 for students with ID.
