This is not a drill, people. The new Star Wars movie is almost here. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story comes out in three weeks on December 16th and advance tickets to see it are going on sale Sunday night.
Star Wars tweeted last night that tickets for Rogue One are going on sale this upcoming Monday, November 28th. The Hollywood Reporter is saying that they go on sale at 12:01 AM Eastern time. This translates to 11:01 PM Sunday night on the 27th here in Chicago. If you’re unfamiliar, Rogue One is a spin-off movie set in the Star Wars cinematic universe. A prequel to A New Hope, the film is about a band of rebels that are trying to steal plans for a not-yet-complete Death Star. It’s directed by Gareth Edwards, who directed the recent Godzilla reboot. Rogue One has a large and impressive cast that features Felicity Jones in the lead role with support from Forest Whitaker, Donnie Yen, and many others. Given that advance tickets for The Force Awakens sold out almost instantly last year, it may be beneficial to have the right time they go on sale if you want to see Rogue One on opening day on IMAX at Navy Pier or anywhere else in town. In the meanwhile, take a look at the trailer below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=frdj1zb9sMYLord Vader, we've been expecting you.
