Evanston Folk Festival Returns for Their Second Outing at Dawes Park

While we sit in the spring showers waiting for sunnier days, let's look ahead to more festive times as the best summer events are starting to announce their lineups. One such fest is Evanston Folk Festival, which will be taking over Dawes Park for two full days on September 6 and 7. The folk-focused festival is ready not only to meet the high bar they set for themselves last year, but exceed it with an extraordinary lineup of conversations, performances, and special evening concerts!

The 2025 lineup continues last year's fantastic look at the folk music spectrum, touching upon as many of its unique facets as the two days at Dawes Park allows. Headlined by Iron & Wine and Margo Price, Evanston Folk Festival 2025 will feature the likes of Watchhouse, Tune-Yards, Bonny Light Horseman, The Milk Carton Kids, John Moreland, Loudon Wainwright III (whose son, Rufus Wainwright, highlighted an evening show at Cahn Auditorium last year), and more! The festival also feature tons of local representation with Elizabeth Moen, Sima Cunningham, Kara Jackson, Ryley Walker, and Steve Dawson & Diane Christiansen.

Space Presents has garnered a well-earned reputation for putting on beautifully curated and diverse festivals like Out of Space and Winnetka Music Festival. Last year's inaugural Evanston Folk Festival was a worthy addition to their events and we can't wait to experience it again!

Evanston Folk Festival will be taking place on September 6 and 7 at Dawes Park, 1700 Sheridan Rd, Evanston. Two day passes are on sale now for $99.50! Children under the age of 12 receive free admission to the festival. Children aged 12 - 16 will require a half-priced children’s ticket for admission, which will be available for purchase at the entry gate, even if the event is sold out in advance.
